Lisa Lyn Sellge
Hello, I'm Lisa. Narrow Girls on a Blue Profound Stage was my Creative Nonfiction thesis at the University of Alaska Creative Writing and Literary Arts MFA program under the direction of Dr. David Stevenson, author Sherry Simpson, and a host of inspiration authors in residence.
Reliving the past through the pages of my journals from the early 1980s, writing Narrow Girls on a Blue Profound Stage was like dreaming in retrospect. Though created as lyrical memoir, Narrow Girls on a Blue Profound Stage was accepted for publication as a novel by Propertius Press.
My creative nonfiction has appeared in Atticus Review, Brevity Blog, 3rd Street Beach Reads Vol 1 & 2, and Literally Literary. I am a recipient of the Jason Wenger Award for Literary Excellence (important to those of us from the University of Alaska) and I am currently writing a new work of autofiction that picks up where Narrow Girls left off.
I live in Washington where I work as a content editor and photograph birds with the same level of obsession I brought to ballet. Narrow Girls on a Blue Profound Stage is my first novel.
